Thaller family
As a typical family business, we live, work and think in generations. In addition to Koarl & Maria, four of the six siblings are now responsible for the winery and combine their strengths to work together here on the estate.
Koarl and Maria
Koarl and Maria built the foundation of our family business together. A passion for nature and wine was and is decisive for their common path. In addition to the family and the wine, the vision of building the “wine castle” and its opening in May 2006 is probably one of the highest milestones.
In the meantime, Koarl and Maria enjoy spending time with their grandchildren and are active in the business as advisors and supporters.
Bettina
Bettina, the eldest of the Thaller siblings, is a hostess with heart and passion.
As “Event Lady” she takes care of all the personal festivities and company celebrations, right up to our culinary and musical highlights all year round, with a lot of love and commitment.
She collects your personal wishes and creates your very own festive day from them.
Katharina and Mathias
The passion for wine & cellar has also been passed on to our Katharina. She was able to gain a lot of experience in international wineries, which she now shares with Karl G. in the wine making department.
With a lot of care she and Mathias take care of all concerns around the topic of wine and are the first docking point in our Greißlerei.
Michaela and Johannes
Michaela perfectly completes the culinary experience. After an exciting and highly formative time in numerous kitchens both in Austria and abroad, she has returned to the family business together with her partner Johannes.
While Johannes Neumann co-leads the kitchen alongside our head chef Werner Gschiel, placing a strong focus on regionality and seasonality, Michaela dedicates herself to the sweeter side of things as Chef de Pâtisserie at the Weinschloss. Together, they continually create memorable culinary delights for our guests.
Karl g. and Andrea
After gaining extensive experience at renowned wineries in California, South Africa, New Zealand, and Australia, Karl G. has now returned home.
Together with his sister Katharina, he has been responsible for wine production since 2018, bringing expertise and innovation to the vineyards in the Vulkanland Styria region. The winemaking siblings place a clear focus on red wines.
Andrea delights guests with regional specialties and seasonal highlights at the Buschenschank and, together with Maria, Markus, and Mojca, looks forward to your visit!
Victoria and Rainer
Victoria was responsible for marketing within the business for several years, offering insights into life and work at the Weinschloss with a strong sense for communication and creativity. Her passion for sustainability was always a key part of her role. She was also the one who initiated and played a leading role in achieving the Austrian Ecolabel certification for the event location – an important step in making sustainable practices visible and transparent.
Today, she is no longer active in the business and is now self-employed. Together with her partner Rainer and his family, she is dedicated to the ongoing development of the 50plus Camping Park Fisching in the Murtal region.
Alexandra marie
Alexandra Marie is the artistic free spirit of our family. She is currently studying architecture in Vienna, shaping her future and exploring new perspectives. Whenever possible, she brings her ideas and creativity into the family business and offers her active support.
