Betty O is on tour with her red piano, serving up home-pressed “song-wine” – with acidity in the lyrics and residual sweetness in her voice. With musical poetry and playful wordcraft in her luggage, this wine-loving powerhouse strikes the keys somewhere between humour and depth.
Her rhymed creations hit just the right note as she sings about temptation, ripening processes, relationships – and the elegant farewells of life. Trained as an actress and singer in Vienna, she was the first Austrian to receive the international performing arts award “Freiburger Leiter” and has worked with stage greats such as Roman Polanski and ABBA mastermind Björn Ulvaeus. With her linguistically and musically multi-faceted compositions, she brings her very own “Mundwerklieder” cabaret to the stage.
