Every legend has a beginning.
As well as the legend of the Nightrace, which began in 1997 with the first chapter. Now another chapter of this legend starts with this wine. With every bottle sold, the young skiers of the WSV Schladming are supported, so that the legend is enriched by another chapter. Be a part of this legend.
Taste the Race
For the second time, the official "The Nightrace-Wine" was tasted in our barrique cellar on September 14th. From three different expressive red wine cuvées was selected by the jury, consisting of century sportswoman & wine godmother Annemarie Moser-Pröll, ski world champion Renate Götschl, Mr. Nightrace Hans Grogl, stadium announcer Didi Ziesel, skiing fan Elisa Royer, sommelier Christoph Schütter and ORF regional director Gerhard Koch, chose the winning wine. The result could not be clearer! For the first time, all members of the jury were in agreement and decided on number 1, a powerful red wine cuvée from the winemaking siblings Katharina and Karl G. Thaller, consisting of Zweigelt, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc.
The exclusive red wine cuvée "Taste the Race" for the Nightrace on 23 and 24 January 2024 can be ordered now in the 6-bottle wooden box signed by wine godmother & athlete of the century Annemarie Moser-Pröll!
